Bicycle Umbrella
The bicycle umbrella was conceived to protect riders from bad weather. It was developed as part of a study to solve inner-city congestion, a topic that evolved over many years to include a wide range of proposals and projects, such as bike tracks and moving walkways (1972); a bus designed for FIAT, enabling passengers to store their bicycles in a designated bus area (1976); a folding steel bicycle with small wheels for Batavus (1976); a folding scooter (1979); and the lightweight aluminum bicycle Zoombike, which easily folds and unfolds and fits into the luggage compartment of a car (2000).
